Welcome Letter from the Principal

Welcome Letter from the Principal

Dear Lake Pend Oreille High School Students and Parents,

I want to welcome you all back after what I hope was a summer of new and exciting experiences, as well as rejuvenation.  I also want to introduce myself in my new role.  I am very excited and honored to be working as the new principal at LPO.  I have been at LPOHS for the past 10 years in the role of the social studies teacher.  Over the summer I have refocused my energy from teacher to administrator in order to utilize our strengths and further our ability to create an educational environment that can meet every learner’s needs!

We have been steadily working on changes for the upcoming school year in all kinds of different ways:

While there have been many changes, what is most important remains the same this year — our commitment to creating an emotionally, academically and physically safe learning space for all students at LPOHS. In addition, we are still focused on helping students recognize their strengths and utilize them to their full potential.

We are all excited to open the doors to our students for the new 2023/2024 school year.  Please check out the updated LPOHS Facebook page and “follow” us!  Our Facebook page and website are both updated to provide even more information for our families.

I want to thank our community for their abundance of support and wish everyone a safe return to school on September 5th.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Luke Childers

Principal, Lake Pend Oreille High School
